Tekistar (テキスター) is a planet that officially is part of the DGTO. However, due to several reasons, the entertainment ban is not enforced on the planet. It's Kashita Miyagi, Yokoyama Yui the 13.5th and Kaname Reina's home planet.

Description[]

Being part of the Deep Galaxy Trade Organization, Tekistar's government enforces the entertainment ban offically. However, the DES presence on the planet is extremly low, and the forces are rather considered as a joke, as not even the planet's government is truely supporting them. Unofficially, the government is pro-entertainment, and the last sentences regarding entertainment are far in the past. Today, the planet holds trading contracts with both planets of the DGTO sphere but also with planets of the AEPS sphere. Compared to other planets of the galaxy and its planetary system, Tekistar is very small.

Tekistar is known to be a tax haven. Despite the low taxes, the huge ammount of companies that have their main headquaters on the planet allows the planet a rather balanced economy. This, however, has a wicked reason.

The planet's poltics are corrupted and full of deception. The majority of elections are manipulated favoriting certain political 'parties'. This is the main reason why the planet hasn't officially left the DGTO and joined the growing AEPS sphere; they're not allowed to. The planet's native high society who usually are in charge of huge companies are the common winners of elections; and they tend to abuse their power.

About hundred years before, the planet had a major problem with the grab between rich and poor. This lead to a revolution to the then-existing strongest houses. A rather new, yet unknown and considered to be weak family supported the poor instead of the high society, however. While this was first considered to be a silly reason, it turned out very well; the "company", Meteor, originally lead the local Zodiac Corporation's branch's boss and his family, started to invest private fundings into the revolution.
With the time, the revolutionaries gained support among the middle class and eventually overthrew the high society,  almost starting a civil war. While the looked like a victory in the beginning, the revolutionaries hadn o idea of politics and almost run the planet's economy into ruin. At this point, said company, who had stayed in the shadows in the latest time, returned, offering the revolutionaries to take over; praising their knowledge and possibilities. This family is still to be considered as one of the main political and economical forces, having left Zodiac shortly after the revolution; Meteor (still lead by the Kashita family) who now is also one of the greatest economy forces.

The suburbs of the planet's capital are known to be the place where the revolutionaries settled down. The suburbs are considered as a zone in which the police does not act anymore, as crime has taken over those places.

The people who live in the suburbs of the capital follow a strict hierarchy in order to more-the-less survive. However, not everyone does, and thus there are always victims. The hierarchy places "the Retired" at the top. This refers all adults that aren't active in the street battles anymore and did not lose their face for any reason. Those people might be elders or simply adults that now work in a serious business. The other part of the hierarchy is decided by never-ending street battles between the adoloscents and those who still participle there. Ill, handicapped and children are "untouchable" and not to be involved into those battles. However, there are people who still do that, and lose their face by doing so, becoming the criminals of the suburbs. One of the main reasons why the Kashita-family is still highly respected in the suburbs is the fact that many members of the family participeld in those street battles. Thanks to their money, they were able to educate themselves properly and thus had much better chances.

The politics of the planets are very corrupted and ruled by money, and generally focused on increasing the money of the rich familys that manipulate the politics. The many problems, the planet has, are generally ignored. The taxes of the planet are low.

While officially being part of the DGTO empire and having DES forces on the planet, they have no real rights and powers due to missing support from the government. The only reason why the planet is still part of the DGTO is that they simply aren't accepted into the AES due to their massive problems in terms of nature, law and crime. The DGTO keeps them as they are a good money source, despite rather low taxes.

The planet's nature is very ruined. For a long time, the planet was exploited by humanity. An originally existing small Dualium mine is completly empty today; and the planet does not hold any ressources of the rare material anymore. Other factories supported the destruction of the environment, and almost no animal live on the planet anymore. By now, technology has been developed to make sure that enough clear water remains on the planet, but generally, the nature is almost completly destroyed. There is no agriculture on the planet and all food is imported or produced on artifical land.

Nowadays, it's nearly impossible to become a citizen of the planet without paying large sums of money to the government. Founding companies or similar on the planet is difficult and expensive for foreign planet business men, but the result is usually worth the money. The last case of a person being granted citizenship without paying money was Kashita Akane.

Tekistar has little to do with religion; mainly due to the upper classes' attitude. There are a few churches, but no official holidays for religious holidays.
